Speaker - Carolyn Steer from the Charity Jigsaw

Carolyn Steer from the Charity Jigsaw will give us an update on the progress of the charity since it was nominated President Bob Shaw's charity during his Presidential year.

Carolyn Steer

I joined the Jigsaw team in February 2015. I have been heavily involved in voluntary work with children for over seven years. This has included running a local Mother and Toddler Group and being an active school governor at a local primary school for the last six years.  The roles have been both challenging and rewarding. Prior to that, I enjoyed a management career with BAA, the airports company, in a variety of roles and locations – not least as Heathrow Terminal 4 operations team manager during 9/11. My BAA career has given me great experience of a wide range of business areas, which have been of great benefit as a school governor, and I hope to put my skills to good use with Jigsaw. I have witnessed the invaluable support that Jigsaw provides to families suffering  bereavement, having lost a lovely friend, a young mother, to cancer less than two years ago.  I am looking forward to growing our income streams so that more children and families can benefit in the way that our friends did.

Who are Jigsaw?

Jigsaw (South East) offers grief support to children and young people who have experienced the death of a significant family member through illness, accident, suicide or murder. We also provide support to children and young people who have a family member with a life-limiting condition.

The charity works throughout Surrey and surrounding areas. Referrals can be made directly by families or via health and social services.
