The Third Thursday of every month is time for a talk by a guest speaker. Open to friends and visitors! Free! Be curious and be interested. We are pleased to welcome you.

Pete Waterman in his den on our Zoom call

Do you like just  browsing for something interesting and entertaining in the evening?  The Rotary Club of Westhoughton has a long history of excellent speaker talks on a wide variety of subjects.  Whilst the pandemic means that we can't meet face to face, we have carried on the tradition of speaker meetings using Zoom.

On the Third Thursday of every month at 8:00p.m. we have an interesting, inspiring, entertaining speaker and we are delighted to open these meetings up to our local population.  Please feel free to join us for the evening and discover something new.  The subjects vary, but topics have included:

*  Biographical talks.  For example Pete Waterman spoke to us in 2020 on his life in music promotion  (see  picture).

*  Entertainers - a life in variety theatre and an international male ballet dancer.

*  Charities - Dreams Come True help youngsters with very serious illnesses to achieve something really important to them.

*  Events and organisations that we probably know little about, but are curious to hear more. . .

If you would like to be notified of our speaker programme, please email Rotary1280@talktalk.net.

Latest programme (all starting at 8:00 p.m):

21 Jan 2021 - Sean Bailey tells us "A Tale of  Resilience"

18 Feb 2021 - About the Commonwealth War Graves Commission
