Balgay War Graves Guided Tour

Invitation to participate in walking tour of war graves at Balgay Cemetery

Balgay Cemetery

Guided Walking Tour of War Graves at Balgay Cemetery

Following the appearance of guest speaker Scott Galloway, who presented on Commonwealth War Graves at lunch on Thursday, 2 September, members are invited to register interest in a guided tour of Balgay Cemetery.  The tour would be conducted by Scott who, as a local historian, specialising in the battles of the Western Front, has knowledge of the many soldiers of the Great War and WW2 interred in the cemetery.  Scott usually conducts two tours a month.  However, he has offered to schedule a special date for club members, if sufficient are interested.  The tour would take a couple of hours and while there are a few inclines, generally it is an easy walk.  There may be a small charge. If any member is interested in participating, please contact PP Clive Murray, so that a tour can be arranged.

UPDATE - First tour 1400 hours, Friday, 24 September 2021

Participants on first tour - John Dein, Gavin and Monica Strachan, Brian Cram, Dai John

Second date being arranged for October.
