District Governor presentation

Our guest speaker for the evening was the current District Governor, Martin Bye. We also formerly welcomed our newest member to the club - Phil Goddard

Our first meeting of the years proved to be particularly busy and eventful as we had the District Governor, Martin Bye as our guest speaker for the evening and also the welcomimg of our newest member, Phil Goddard to the Club.

If this wasn't enough our Club President Geoff Nicholls had to cry off earlier in the day due to covid which meant that our President Elect, Sue Parker, had to step in at short notice to conduct proceedings and what an excellent job she did being ably supported by Past President Celia Smallwood.

Having got the evening off to an excellent start with a Spanish style chicken casserole followed by cheesecake there quickly followed a very short business meeting after which we welcomed Phil formerly to the club. Martin then rounded off procedings with a very interesting presentation and discussion in which he gave us an insight into his professional and Rotary background along with an update regarding the hopes and aspirations of Rotary GB & Ireland and Rotary International for the year ahead.

Our thanks go to Sue, Celia and Martin for what proved to be a very entertaining evening.
