Following the devastating earthquake in Turkey and northern Syria, the Club approached Morrisons to request a collection day. On Saturday 18th February Club members collected the wonderful total of £1200 over 6 hours.
The donations were given to ShelterBox, the UK based disaster relief charity started in 2000 by the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard in Cornwall. In its 22 years ShelterBox has been deployed to 98 countries. Many of you will know our own Nailsworth Liz Odell who has helped at 21 ShelterBox relief operations.
ShelterBox provide tents, cooking utensils and tools that help families support themselves in the aftermath of a disaster.
