Community activities

What we do in within the local community

Helping at the regular litter picks

We like to get hands on and help in our community.

We hold regular whist drives at the Tythe Barn to give elderly people an incentive to come out of the home and have some social interaction.

Members support the Litter Picks in Nailsea.

We support the Clevedon Foodbank, transporting donations from Waitrose to Foodbank distribution hub every week.

We provide support to local organisations such as the Memory Cafe and the Leg Club.

We run various initiatives to support young people and local schools, more detail on these are given on the Supporting Young People page  here

Our annual Charity Walks and Run event gives organisations and charities the opportunity to raise money for their cause.

The 2024 Charity Golf Day was held on Thursday 11th July and made £2,000 for Prostate Cancer UK. 17 teams of 4 golfers enjoyed a round on the Brinsea Championship Course at Mendip Spring Golf Club. Date for 2025 is Thursday, 10 July.

July 2021 bookstall

4 Sales of pre-used paperback books and jigsaws in 2023 were in March, June, July and October. A further 4 sales are planned for 2024, dates to be announced. Handbag stalls are now being organised by Nailsea Leg Club.
