A high level presentation covering:
- A brief history of States’ finances and the current position
- What does the next ten years look like?
- Do we really need to raise more tax?
- Why can’t we just cut costs to balance the books?
Report on the Presentation
At our lunch meeting on 28th May we had the pleasure of welcoming Bethan Haines, the States Treasurer, as our speaker on the subject of "Going for Broke - Lifting the Lid on States Finances". At this very well attended meeting Bethan presented a very interesting analysis of the States finances and how, and why, our island needs to raise more money.
