12:30pm Luncheon

Wed, Feb 3rd 2016 at 12:00 am -

Speaker: George Garnet. Subject: Peruvian Amazon experience.

George Garnet is a remarkable young man in many ways. His ambition is to become a plant taxonomist and to achieve that aim he joined a party of young people in the Peruvian Amazon to study plant life.

Our club supported George in this venture, but he raised funds in many ways through his own initiatives, in particular organising an evening event at the Princess Royal centre with TV presenter and botanist James Wong. James agreed to attend after meeting George and being "blown away by his enthusiasm and knowledge of plants at such a young age".

Do not miss this event.
