Rotary Club of Guernsey member Alan Richards has entered his Dufour
40 "Far Fetched" in the Azores & Back Race and fellow RC of Guernsey
member Claire Le Pelley has joined him.
They left Guernsey early on Saturday 30 May. The race started from Falmouth at 1200 BST on Saturday 6 June and the return leg from Ponta Delgada starts at 1300 local time on Tuesday 23 June.
Each leg should take between 7 and 10 days and the total distance is 2400 miles - assuming they sail in a straight line.
You can follow their progress using the YB tracker system which was fitted to "Far Fetched" shortly before the race started by visiting http://yb.tl/azab2015. This leads to the YB Tracking site for the race and will give the most up-to-date information available. You might also want to look at the boat’s position using AIS on www.marinetraffic.com – but this display is largely restricted to coastal waters e.g. the English Channel.
