In the absence of our arranged speaker Gwen Jones and Club member Richard Hughes, President Elect Ian Haigh stepped into the breach by delivering his long overdue introductory talk to Club.
Spontaneous and with the minimum of preparation, Ian told us of his school days and enthusiastic rugby career, University days at Newcastle where he met his future wife Pauline and how he had arrived in Oswestry where he practised as a dentist for 30 years.
Club members greatly enjoyed his delivery and were grateful to Ian for letting the Club know more about him in the year before he takes on the role of President of our Club in 2016-17.
