As well as supporting well-known local charities such as the hospices, we endeavour to seek out lesser known local causes which are often struggling from lack of support from government or local councils. Recently we focussed heavily on mental health services which have been the poor relation when it comes to the Health Services.
A variety of small local organisations which we have helped over the years include Age UK, stroke victims, dementia sufferers, children with learning difficulties and many others. Sometimes we have even helped individuals or families at times of distress.
The other major aspect is to participate in local activities such as the Village Fair days in spring and summer as well as the Christmas Festival Evenings. Lindfield Bonfire Night sees us out in force helping out with the charity collection.
We are currently engaged in a major project to upgrade the external areas of the Langley Green Mental Hospital. This not only involves providing funds for equipment and supplies, but also members getting their hands dirty creating garden areas.
