Earlier this year Ava Spittle, a pupil at the Balerno High School, and Antoni Zielinski at the Currie High School, had the opportunity to participate in the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Award programme. They were sponsored by the Currie Balerno Rotary Club.

They each attended a one week residential course designed to develop team-work, communication and leadership skills as well as personal awareness and confidence, through outward-bound style activities and group discussion.

On 28 November Ava and Antoni each gave to the members of the Rotary Club a short presentation of their experiences, which they did with confidence and enthusiasm.
