For years Rotarians have planted and maintained the flowers on Currie’s Lanark Road West opposite and outside the Post Office. This year we had some help from a younger and undoubtedly fitter group – the members of the Rotakids Club at Nether Currie Primary School. On 10 June the Rotakids joined Rotarians in planting this year’s flowers.

Nether Currie has the only Rotakids Club in our area and a very active Club it is. They meet once a month to discuss what projects they want to set up and members of our Rotary Club attend these meetings to offer support where it’s needed. We are always impressed by their enthusiasm and their ideas.

On this occasion the Rotakids helped to plant out all 17 tubs – we’ll be doing the flower baskets soon - and also on this occasion we collected funds from the bar at the Riccarton Inn for which we are very grateful, as we are of course to the Rotakids.
