Over 100 people came to the sixtieth anniversary of the founding of Wadebridge Rotary, at a black tie dinner-dance at the Pavilion, Royal Cornwall Showground on 2nd November.
It was great to see so many former members, friends of the club, members of other Rotary clubs and guests come to help current members celebrate the occasion (not to mention eat the food and drink the wine).
President Nigel Davey kept the speeches admirably brief whilst still welcoming everyone and getting through the requisite number of toasts, thus ensuring a good amount of time for dancing before the band packed up. A table raffle netted £325 for the Trust account, after substantial first, second and third prizes went to Bob Ryan, Lis Romans and Libby Rowles. Andy Lyle provided a minibus service, meaning that quite a few of us didn't have to worry about driving home. Very considerate – thanks Andy.
