Cheltenham North Rotary Club
A Year in the life of Cheltenham North
From the Autumn of
2021following the Coronavirus the Club reverted to regular meetings held at the New Club. It was
also able to organise two successful events, the Wine Festival at the
end of October and the Carol Concert in December.
Due to the Coronavirus in 2020/21 the activities of Cheltenham North Members had been seriously reduced, with our regular meetings being carried out via the Zoom conference facility.
As a result of the Covid situation our Fund Raising activities had to be curtailed during 2020/21 with the cancellation of the Beer and Cider Fest., Carol Concert and Wine Festival.
However due to the efforts of the members, partners and supporters the Club were able to implement three major activities during the course of the year.
.A) £13,000 was raised to buy the Vehicle for Community Connexions in Cheltenham. This was funded by 3 Grants, A Just Giving Page, and by generous contributions from Club Members.B) The Club heavily supported the planting of trees, within the plan to have 100 trees ready for the Centenary of the Cheltenham Club’s 100th anniversary in November 2021.By end March, 99 were safely installed with plaques.
C) And the Club continued to support School in the Bag Charity, by collecting and donating items to be auctioned. Commission earned to date has supplied 270 bags at £4050, with the final 90 due soon
Current Membership 46 members.
