Local grass roots football team BJFF under 11 lasers have taken part in the #icefoot92 challenge in a bid to help raise awareness about motor neurone disease ( MND ).
The team who are also part of the Blackpool Palatine Rotakids are always keen to take on challenges to help others.
Footballer Len Johnson, who has made over 400 league appearances has set up the #icefoot92 challenge. Len is living with MND and is raising awareness. “ As a player, I’d ice foot injuries. Try it for 92 seconds- a second for every league club.
Recently, local footballer George Melling was diagnosed with MND. George is the step dad to one of the Lasers players, Kaiser. George has played football for Blackpool, Morecambe and Nelson and is also raising awareness about the disease. His campaign #HelpBigGfightMND has also been established as a fundraiser ( https:// go fund.me/84197325 ) Kaiser and his mum, Nicki nominated the Lasers football team to do the ice foot challenge after there match on Saturday. All the boys had there own bucket full of ice cubes and rotary supplied the ice.
