Billion Seed Challenge

Ilfracombe Rotary joined in the Rotary International Billion Seed Challenge

Ilfracombe Rotary contacted North Devon District Council to arrange an area where they could scatter wild flower seeds.   Some land near the llfracombe Football club was identified and several of the Club’s Rotarians volunteered to clear the area and scatter the seeds, which were donated by fellow Rotarian Nick Pedlar of Pedlars Home Hardware.

We were also approached by the Holy Trinity Graveyard Group to help brighten up some discarded older graves.  As a thank you one of the graveyard group members made a plaque to commemorate the ‘scattering’ …. Fingers crossed they get a splendid colourful array of flowers in the Spring.
