Subject: The width and breadth of Guernsey Arts' project work this year.

About Guernsey Arts
Guernsey Arts is a charity which supports Island artists and Arts organisations. Our aim is for the Bailiwick of Guernsey to be the most vibrant artistic community it can be - across all aspects of the arts. We believe that there should be no barriers to enjoyment and appreciation of the arts and we work hard to make the arts accessible to all.

Presentation
We would like to talk about the width and breadth of our project work this year.

From community projects and festival seed funding to hosting exhibitions and supporting creatives across all art forms, the door at Guernsey Arts is always open. For many Islanders, it is the gateway to realising their creative dreams and potential, as our team provide valuable contacts, advice and support.

Some examples of recent community projects are included below.

- We advised and facilitated artwork for the refurbishment of Action for Children's new trauma informed design space in Victoria Road
- Guernsey Arts has developed a Cultural Programme for the upcoming Natwest Island Games including a Pocket Island Poetry Anthology and Digital Arts Open
- We brought the whole community together for Arts Sunday 2023, we oversee and co-ordinate Castle Nights and will be celebrating music and visual arts for all with Beatles themed exhibition A Summer of Twist and Shout
- We ensure that the amazing nature and biodiversity of our Islands is captured through the Bailiwick Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition - an opportunity for Islanders to have their work on display next to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition (of Natural History Museum fame and renown). This year, we also hosted free community artist workshops as part of a nationwide initiative The Wild Escape.
- We regularly support young artists - this can be from meeting 1:1 and providing advice on how to hold an exhibition and to sell work or finding an exhibition space. We will share some case studies. We also look after all busking licenses for St Peter Port.
