Charity Film Showing of 'ONE LIFE' Tuesday 11 June 7.30pm

Haddenham & District Rotary together with Haddenham Screen will be screening a Charity Film Show on Tuesday 11 June to raise funds for local children's charities and causes

Before screening the film, we have invited a television and film executive to give a talk on the making of both the television programmes and the film itself

The event will take place at Haddenham Village Hall, Banks Park, Haddenham HP17 8EE

Ample car parking available, comfortable seating and large screen

'ONE LIFE' (12A), is an excellent depiction of the KinderTransport project led by Sir Nicholas (Nicky) Winton in 1938, and who was a Rotarian with Maidenhead club for many years, up to his death at the age of 106

Starring Anthony Hopkins, Jonny Flynn and Helena Bonham Carter, the movie recalls the dramatic rescue of 669 children from Czechslovakia, to be brought by train to live with British foster families

They thus avoided the terrible fate to be imposed on their parents and relatives following the invasion of the Nazi army.  Years later, the story was brought to public attention by two emotional episodes of the 1988 BBC television programme That's Life

The event will take place at Haddenham Village Hall, Banks Park, Haddenham HP17 8EE on Tuesday 11 June at 7.30pm (doors open 7.00)

Tickets at £10.00 may be booked directly here:
