2019 Steam & Vintage Vehicle Rally

The 10th Leisure Lakes Steam & Vintage Vehicle Rally was a great success. Over a mainly sunny and dry weekend not only was the event a great day out for the family but raised just under £25,000 for local charities.

2019 Leisure Lakes Steam & Vintage Vehicle Rally

Our 10th Leisure Lakes Steam & Vintage Vehicle Rally took place on the weekend of the 29th & 30th June 2019. The principal organisers of the event are the Rotary Clubs of Preston South and Kirkham.  The event is a firm fixture on the steam rally scene and draws exhibitors and visitors from all over the country.

What a fantastic weekend, the weather was sunny and believe it or not dry and there were over 3,000 visitors.  As with previous rallies there were hundreds of exhibits including a vast array of steam engines, trucks, cars, tractors, motor bikes and military vehicles.  In addition to these vintage vehicles there were again attractions for all the family and age groups at the fairground with numerous craft, trade and food stalls.  Mention must also be made of the ever popular and now famous Aunt Nellies Tea Room with its first class refreshments.

A good time was had by all with many feeding back the good value and enjoyable time had by all.  Make sure you check out the montage of photos of the day.

This year’s event raised just under £25,000 for local charities.  This brings the total raised by the Steam Rally in 10 years to an impressive one third of a million pounds.  The Club has to say a big thank you to all those who organise and set up the event as well as exhibitors but more importantly to those who attend the event and pay their entrance fees with the re-assurance that it goes to good causes.
