An interview with Foundation Committee Chairman Chris Wick

Tell us a little about yourself?

I am very much a family Man, married and proud father of twins, enjoys being social with family & friends “always up for a challenge”. Enjoys Cycling / Walking / Motor Racing of all types. Logistics Professional that always wears his heart on his sleeve, believes in Old Fashion Values

What is your perfect family Holiday?

Canary Islands

What your favourite book or movie?

James Bond / Uncle Buck

What 3 famous people (past or present) you would invite for a BBQ?

Daley Thompson, David Coulthard, and the current Prime Minister

What attracted you to Rotary?

Helping others whilst enjoying good fellowship, Rotary had helped me initially

How did you get involved in Rotary?

Rotary had helped me initially when involved in setting up youth group call Kids in Their Element (Kite). A good family friend Brian Mathson (Rotarian) Introduced Rotary to me

What are the best bits of being a member?

Fellowship / Friendship & making a difference to those in need

what have you done recently making a difference to someone?

Now you Foundation chairman, tell us what the Foundation committee does, and challenges are involved?

Foundation is the Original Rotary Charity. The Platform to help others Domestically and around the world through their own members grant system whilst connecting Clubs and District Globally. Foundation also promotes our No 1 priority “Polio Eradication” too which aims to eradicate World Polio along with the support of the World Health Organisation, along and Bill /Belinda Gates who are doubling any funds raised by Rotary
