As we approached the end of 2020 we continued with our Rotary friendship through the technology of Zoom and socially distanced “Hello's” to those members we visited on their doorsteps or saw while out and about.
Judy once again showed her amazing green fingered skill and talent, this time making and distributing the most beautiful Christmas Door Wreaths with all proceeds to our Trust Fund. Huge thanks from us all Judy.
Kath and Sandra organised a Zoom Christmas Quiz which we all enjoyed, suitably attired in Christmas Jumpers, with a drink (or two) and raising a glass to the end of a difficult year and hope for a better 2021.
With news of the eagerly awaited vaccine, we were delighted to hear that Kath, as a volunteer at Heron Hill Care Home, was our first member to receive a jab!
Despite not being able to hold fundraising events over the last 9 months the club donated to the following organisations in December: -
Water Survival £300 (DG Wilma’s charity request)
Windermere Foodbank £500 which covers both the Windermere & the Ambleside area
Salvation Army Kendal £500
Manna House Kendal £500
S.A.L.V.E International £50
So, 2020 is over!! We send our best wishes to all who read our web and the hope that we will all be able to enjoy each other’s company in less restricted ways very soon.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
