During recent years the Club has supported Navin Gurung who was determined to improve conditions back in his homeland. Gavin is proprietor of the The Royal Oak, Stokenchurch, and more importantly an active Nepali.
He supported us at several of our Burns Night Suppers and his team delivered a memorable Nepalese evening for us. The proceeds of these events went to support the welfare project. The piper at our Burns Supper was for many years one of Navin's Ghurka friends - and maybe the piper at our next event.
Our contribution along with that of the Rotary clubs of Bourne End and Cookham and of Cookham Bridge is being recognised in the building and the attached newsletter includes pictures and a description of the day's celebration of the opening.
