Cut Out Cancer meeting, jointly with Ewell. Start time is 7:00 at The Green Man, Ewell
A visiting speaker will be talking about a project called "Cut out Cancer campaign". Rotary clubs across Surrey and Sussex have formed a partnership with the Royal Surrey Charity to raise funds to purchase the high-tech equipment needed at the expanded surgical facilities at Royal Surrey hospital in Guildford. They are calling on the local community to back the campaign, which will help transform cancer care in Surrey, Sussex and the South East. The campaign aims to fund the purchase of high-tech equipment including a £2.5million surgical robot at the hospital. This will allow more accurate and complex surgeries to take place, meaning faster recovery times and improved patient experience. Specialist surgical tables which move with the robots are also needed, as well as other state-of-the-art equipment.
