Visit from our twin Rotary Club of Vlaardingen 80
Fri 2nd October 2009 - Sun 4th October 2009
A brief outline of the weekend: -
Most of VL80 arrive on the morning flight and are hosted in groups of 2 by Blaize members.
The rest arrive on the evening flight and a welcome party is held at the Ilkley Moor Vaults that evening.
Saturday sees the majority head to Hebden Bridge for a walking tour followed by lunch at the Stubbing Wharf.
That evening is at Emerald Publishing Offices in Bingley courtesy of Keith Howard where a lovely dinner is served.
Sunday morning after a full English breakfast the party head for Keighley and a ride on the Haworth Worth Valley railway. The visit is heightened by the new Tornado steam train passing through the station as we arrive.
Sunday lunch is then enjoyed courtesy of Alan and Marjorie Morrell before sadly our visitors have to head back to the airport.
A thoroughly great weekend that left everyone Dutch & English tired out but even better friends than before if indeed that is possible.
