Visit to Himalayan Garden - No Meeting at the Bradford Club

Wed, May 25th 2016 at 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm

We went on a visit to the Himalayan Gardens at Grewelthorpe - No Meeting at the Bradford Club.

This is one of ‘Yorkshire’s Hidden Gems’ – 20 acre area of woodland garden in great scenery .  The garden was teeming with a fabulous array of plants.

Some had a light lunch in the Tea Room with the rest arriving at  2 pm.  We took 2 hours to wander around the steep valley that forms the back drop for the garden. Unfortunately the weather was cold and very wet but this didn't put off the intrepid band of 23 Rotarians, wives and friends who visited.

After the visit most of us then moved on to Masham (3 miles away) where we had a quick wander around the town and church followed by a short visit to the Theakstons brewery/visitor centre.  That was followed by an early evening meal at the White Bear which served good pub grub with excellent hand-pulled local bitter.

Details of the garden can be found at: -
