Lone Parent trip #1 to Whipsnade Zoo

25 excited children, with 19 parents and three carers from Blackthorn Nursery along with 3 supporting Rotarians enjoyed a Rotary Nene Valley sponsored day trip to Whipsnade Zoo. Transport, entrance and lunch all being provided for the day
Amongst the many highlights of the day was a trip on a steam pulled train which gave powerful close up views of Indian elephants, Asian Rhinos and Camels.
A second trip is to take place on the 5th June 2018.
The Lone Parent initiative is part of our programme to reach out and support those vulnerable in the local community who would benefit from an educational and fun day out and was supported by a grant from Rotary’s own charity, The Rotary Foundation.

This is the committee that addresses the 'wants' (and 'needs') of young people. As well as identifying and supporting candidates at RYLA and Calvert Trust we also lead the club's flagship project, the annual Technology Tournament - q.v.
