Rotary involves working to help our local and global community, as well as friendship, camaraderie, having fun, and many other things. One of our main aims is to make our view of Rotary accessible to everyone – not just those able to attend our regular weekly meetings – because whilst people’s lives are getting busier, the desire to ‘put something back’ is still there.
That’s why we’re working hard to grow a flexible way of doing Rotary – Rotary 2 (or should that be ‘Rotary Too?’). Since we started our new initiative recently, we’ve welcomed around 10 new volunteers to our Rotary family, and we hope to double this number over the next year.
Volunteers enjoy all the benefits of being a Rotarian in every way with a flexible approach to our meetings, so if you’re too busy to attend all of weekly lunchtime meetings or our twice-monthly evening events – it doesn’t matter. We think it’s more important to get involved in our community projects and make a real difference, attending our enjoyable meetings when you can.
If you feel that this may fit in with your way of doing Rotary – if you’re a “do-er”, and care for your community, whether local or global – then Rotary 2 may be what you’ve been looking for.
