As one of the oldest Rotary Golf Clubs we celebrated our Golf Club's centenary during 2013-14.
The Club’s membership of about 40 is derived not only from the Rotary Club of Edinburgh, but a number of other Rotary Clubs in Edinburgh and the surrounding area – this includes a significant contingent from the Rotary Clubs of Peebles and IWT (Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Traquair).
Club members enjoy golf and fellowship during six outings per year (one each month from April to September inclusive) to a variety of courses in the Area. Members compete for a number of prestigious trophies, not only during these outings but also in annual singles and foursomes knock-out competitions. They also play annual matches against Rotarian golfers from Dunfermline and Glasgow - our annual needle match with the Rotary Club of Glasgow for the Dobbie Cup has been played for since 1914 and is thought to be one of the oldest competitions in Rotary the world over.
During the Centenary Year (see above), we held a Charity Golf Day at Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society. This has now become an annual event, held during July, and a significant fund-raiser for the Rotary Club’s Jubilee Charity Fund.
