It provides mental health and trauma recovery support for children and young people and their families.

Started by one person 15 years ago it now has some 100 full and part-time staff supporting 3,500 families. The lockdowns caused some difficulties as therapies had to be delivered online and physical activities had to be curtailed. This coincided with an increased need for Kids Inspire’s services due to the traumatic effects of the lockdowns on children and young people. Tragically the charity even had to deal with one 8 year-old contemplating suicide.

Nevertheless Kids Inspire has continued to be successful and has expanded its work to help families which have offered to host refugees from the Ukrainian war. One of their therapists is supporting families in Romania that are helping Ukrainians. Support is also planned for British families who are or will be doing the same.

One of our members asked about support for Afghani families, Kids Inspire can give support, provided the language barrier can be overcome.
