2 March 2023: Business meeting

One piece of encouraging news at today’s business meeting was that our Coronation Crown competition for local primary schools is proving popular. We potentially have four schools taking part, which is probably the most we can handle. Other Chelmsford Rotary Clubs may wish to arrange something at other schools. We approved the purchase of appropriate “medals” as prizes for the winning pupils.

Chuda Karki collected two plastic sacks full of used blister packs at the District Forum on Saturday. We may have to explore the possibility of entering into direct arrangements with the recycling company.

Chuda informed us that District has raised a query about an application for a District Grant for out project supporting Ukrainian refugees in the Chelmsford area. The Club is, however, proceeding with the application.

It is hoped that Indu Tiwari will soon be well enough to come to Club meetings again. One honorary member recently moved into a care home.

After next month’s business meeting we will hold a Special Meeting to discuss membership and meeting arrangements, including frequency and venue. This will be an important meeting and all members are encouraged to attend if they can.
