Oxford Welsh Male Voice Choir Concert in Carterton.Witney Rotary are pleased to bring the well-known Oxford Welsh Male Voice Choir for a concert in St John the Evangelist Church Carterton at 7.30 pm on Saturday 5th April 2025.

This is the second event the Club has organised in Carterton and follows on from the very successful Firewalk held in the spring of 2024, when the sponsored walkers raised over £20000 for their good causes.

This concert, very kindly sponsored by Lee Chadwick LLP and L A Lockhart Plant Hire, is raising funds equally for the Windrush Valley Amateur Boxing Club and local Rotary causes, which recently have included Men’s Sheds in Witney, Bridewell Gardens, the RDA, Carterton Park Run and Kids Day Out.

WVABC is the leading affiliated Boxing Club in West Oxfordshire and offers a range of lifestyle skills to young people, including fitness, nutrition, discipline, teamwork and well-being in a safe and caring environment. It is currently located in Bampton and has for several years been seeking accommodation in Carterton. The Club is extremely grateful that, with the help of Carterton Town Council, this should be achieved in the next couple of years. The funds raised by the concert will be used toward the cost of setting up their new facility.

OWMVC or ‘Oxford Welsh’ is one of Oxford’s oldest community choirs performing regularly since 1928. Their programme will includes some old favourites, some more modern pieces, solos and songs for the audience to join in. Complimentary refreshments will be served in the interval. Please come along and enjoy an evening of song and conviviality.
