In 1760, ![]() With the growth of Pontefract cakes as confectionery the demand for liquorice outstripped the capacity of Pontefract growers to supply. Micheal went to work at Ubanks Liquorice factory. George Dunhill srarted making aproduct as medisinal moving the bowels.. Now there are 2 manufacturers Harribold and Gents. Pontifract cake are made 30000 a day being stampedout. He spoke about Liquorice and Spanish were inported from Syria and TurkyMicheal gave out free samples |
