Rotarian Pat Taylor

Pat has been Youth Chair for District 1040 for 10 years
and has served 4 times as President of Batley RC.
Rotarian Patricia Taylor has single handedly succeeded in establishing Rota Kids and Interact Clubs in
Batley and Birstall schools. Starting in 2012 when she was a Rotarian in Batley RC
and now being a member of Birstall Luddites RC she has worked tirelessly to form new
Rotary Rota Kids/Interact/clubs.
The covid epidemic dealt a big blow to Pats Rotakid projects when all school life entered the big covid lock down.
Slowly Pat is restarting Rotakids in Birstall and Batley as life is coming back to near normal.
Patricia came to Birstall Luddites and gave a talk on Rota Kids.

Pats Rota Kids speaker night

Rota Kids is a great way for youngsters aged between 7 and 12 years old to get together
and enjoy working on a fun project.

Rotary clubs work with schools to help Rota Kids get the most fun and enjoyment from whatever they are working on. The school will benefit from motivated youngsters who are eager to use their maths and english skills to help others, whilst having a great time in the process. RotaKids logo

Rota Kids also learn about the importance of citizenship and respecting others, as well as themselves.

At the end of the project, Rota Kids could get a special badge, certificate or a t-shirt.

Lydgate J&I School
"We had a very successful Charter at Lydgate school just before half term, with our DG David Phillips present along with our own PE Steve Gooder and Rotarians who are volunteering to help with our Rota kids."They have had visits to Howlands by mini bus and had involvement with their children..

Park Road J&I School
Park Road have had their Charter celebrations on Mon 21st March they have 14 members.
Rota kids have started their letters to Rota kids at Three Oaks Elimatary in Florida, these were posted
They have selected their Charity for this year which is the Forget Me Not Charity

St Peters J&I School
Birstall - "Pat has been in touch with the school about their Rota Kids but volunteers are still not allowed in the school, I am waiting for them to get in touch. They are still in their Covid bubble.

Carlton Road Junior School.
" Pat is launching a brand new Rota kids here at Carlton Road. Our latest Rota Kids club at Carlton Road Juniors, Batley Carr, have been asked by our Rota Kids lead, Rtn Patricia Taylor to research the founding of Rotary and its founder Paul Harris. One of the members asked if she could do a poster and here is her finished product - great piece of work, see pic in rotating pics above well done!"
