Each year on the 2nd Wednesday of June Rotary Clubs throughout the UK organise a day out for special needs young people. This is achieved with the help and support of the national Kids Out Charity ( www.kidsout.org.uk)
This year Medway Sunlight Rotary Club, with the very generous support of a grant from Chatham Maritime Trust, was able to take a party of kids from year 7 at Rivermead School and from Club Ausome to a special event at Chessington World of Adventures.
The party of 60 children, teachers, parents, carers and 3 Rotarians travelled by coach and minibus to Chessington where they joined over 2,500 others on a brilliantly sunny day.
A day of exciting rides, experiences and even a sighting of the Gruffalo followed before the party climbed back on the coach tired but with huge smiles on their faces.
We look forward to next year!
