Sergii, business development and finance consultant, has been a Rotarian in Kharkiv, North-East Ukraine since 2014 and Charter President of two new clubs set up there in 2015 and 2017. In 2018-9 he was Assistant Governor of District 2232 Ukraine-Belarus, with responsibility for East Ukraine.
Kharkiv is the second-largest city in the country and is a major cultural, scientific, educational, transport and industrial centre, with numerous museums, theatres and libraries. It has of course been under repeated attack by Russian forces since the start of the war and has endured some of the fiercest fighting, but remains under Ukrainian control.
