On Saturday, 5 December 2020, we held our Christmas Quiz using Zoom. There were 15 teams involving over 100 people, an excellent response. As well as friends and relatives, we were also supported by teams from other Rotary Clubs. These included the Rotary Clubs of Colchester Centurion (who narrowly won the quiz), Brentwood Breakfast, Chelmsford Mildmay, Chelmsford Rivermead and Chelmsford Phoenix, not to mention three teams including members of our Club. There were also two teams entered by the Chelmsford Lions Club.

Steve Moriaty devised the questions and acted as quizmaster for the evening and Phil Goodman was the scorer. Everything went very smoothly, no power cuts or connectivity problems - always a slight worry when using Zoom. We raised £348 0n the evening which will be donated to NAYC (North Avenue Youth Centre) to help them with the invaluable work they do with vulnerable young people in Chelmsford. Their Youth Centre Manager, Charlie Newton, spoke a little about their work. We had a competition for the best turned out Christmas themed team which was won by Rivermead.

It was a lovely evening and people left with a little more Christmas Spirit than when they arrived.
