Have you a laptop surplus to requirements?

H & W Rotary is refurbishing them for school use

Old laptops

Online learning for students during lockdown can be a challenge especially if you don’t have a laptop and despite the government stepping in, their quotas are not meeting the demand.

Hythe & Waterside Rotary have been in contact with local schools who tell us that they are still in need of laptops and this is where you can help.

If you have any old laptops (up to 10 years old) that you no longer need, please let us know. We are currently refurbishing them and ensuring they can then be passed on to students who need them.  Please donate regardless of condition, and we can arrange a safe collection.

If you can help please contact us on 02381 818187

Press Release by Jean Adams (added 24 February 2021)

Can you help?

Online learning for students during lockdown can be a challenge especially if you don’t have a laptop and despite the government stepping in, their quotas are not meeting the demand.

Hythe & Waterside Rotary have been in contact with local schools who tell us that they are still in need of laptops (or tablets) and this is where you can help.

If you have any old or unwanted laptops (up to 10 years old) or a tablet that you no longer need, please let us know. We are currently refurbishing them (where necessary) and ensuring they can then be passed on to students who need them. Please donate regardless of condition, and we can arrange safe collection.

If you have no unwanted IT equipment but would still like to help, we would be grateful for any donations towards the costs involved. It costs approximately £80 to refurbish a laptop and, of course, Covid-19 restrictions prevent Hythe Rotary from carrying out its usual fundraising events at the moment.

If you can help in any way please contact us on 02381 818187 or by email: laptops@hwrotary.org
