Travellers’ Tales in the Domus!
After a 12-month break, Hythe & Waterside Rotary was delighted to be able to hold their prestigious Annual Charity
Dinner again this year. Members and their guests enjoyed an exceptional evening at The Domus, Beaulieu, courte-
sy of Lord and Lady Montagu.
In the beautiful historic venue guests enjoyed a welcoming glass of sparkling wine before
going on to enjoy a superb three course meal. H&W Rotary President, Ray Lewis wel-
comed Special Guest Speaker, Sir John Coles G.C.M.G., (Career Diplomat and Private
Secretary to Margaret Thatcher), who entertained with his fascinating “Travellers’ Tales,”
recalling travellers and explorers, past and present, along with the places they visited.
The whole evening, which included a Grand Raffle and auction raised a total of £3,500
which, as usual, will go to support Rotary’s local, national and worldwide charities. Hythe
& Waterside Rotary is incredibly grateful to those who generously sponsored the event.
