Special Guest Speaker

Our speker will be Chalmers Cursley and his talk is entitled 'Benjamin Cusley, Cordwainer, Marine, First Fleeter and Hawkesbury Pioneer'. He will speak about convict transportation to Australia wound around the life of Benjamin Cusley (Curlsley) from his baptism in 1762, his recruitment into the Royal Marines, service in the Royal Navy during the American War of Independence, service as a Marine Guard on the First Fleet to Australia and his life as an Australian pioneer.

The speaker comes highly recommended by a Rotary friend of Elaine Thwaites.
