Every June, the Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland together with KidsOut take over 25,000 disadvantaged children on a fun day out. The children visit the seaside, theme parks, adventure playgrounds and zoos, giving them all wonderful memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Chesham Rotary took nineteen children from Heritage House school in Chesham to Whipsnade Zoo for the day. In addition to the children there were eleven carers to look after the children plus eight Rotarians who were there to help in any way they could.
A great time was had by all and spirits were not dampened by the dull weather.
The National Day Out is run nationally in conjunction with Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (Rotary GB&I) and is always on the second Wednesday in June. To make the National Rotary KidsOut Day the success that it is, more than 10,000 Rotarians volunteer on the day at over 100 venues
Letters of thanks from the children.
