President Elect Eileen and Peter Boyd visited the  Boxing Club, to be shown round by

Karen Hunter, a volunteer. A session was in progress for the younger

members, so Eileen was able to present Easter Eggs, and printed Tee shirts,

previously supplied by Rotary.

Our club had earlier presented the Boxing Club with £2000, secured by

President Chris, and Karen was able to show how the money had been spent.

Items included a purpose built boxing ring, leather punch bags, along with

gloves and protective equipment. She was passionate about how the club helps

youngsters from the local estate and surrounding areas with discipline, and self

motivation.

A cheque from the Christmas Float funds was presented to Police

Sergeant Gary Bulmer, who runs the club with the help of numerous

volunteers.

Sergeant Gary, and Karen have both expressed a wish to visit Wollaton

Park Rotary Club to give a presentation in the near future to thank us for the

donations.
