LETS MAKE STANDISH AND SHEVINGTON DEMENTIA FRIENDLY!!.
Wigan Council are rolling out a very exciting project and it is your opportunity to get involved, have your say and implement a change in the way people in your community live well with dementia.
A Dementia Friendly Community is a city, town or village where people with dementia are understood, respected and supported, and can be confident they can contribute to community life. People will be aware of and understand dementia, and people with dementia will feel included and involved and have choice over their day-to-day lives.
Organised in conjunction with Wigan Rotary Club, we want to improve the daily lives of people living with dementia by making Standish and Shevington dementia Friendly Communities. We have a small amount of funding to support local ideas and projects in Standish and Shevington. We are encouraging anyone with ideas to come along to the events planned.
