Regional Finals held at St John Rigby College
There was fierce competition from schools in the District but St Peters Intermediate team won the intermediate section with their presentation entitled “Social Media” an insightful account of the benefits and dangers of Social Media and ways in which to use this to its best.
In the Senior Section St Peters Team came second with their presentation entitled “it’s a paper clip - but not as we know it”
Each team consists of a Chairperson, a Speaker and a Proposer of the Vote of Thanks. A selected Rotarian will ask questions of the Speaker after the presentation.
Both these teams will now progress to the Regional Final which will be held on 25th March 2017 at Darwen Vale School, Blackburn Road, Darwen,

Speaker - Annie MacDonald(Annie won the award for the Best Speaker in the Intermediate Contest).

As a reward for their success they visited the Town Hall to meet the Mayor and Mayoress on 27th April and delivered their winning speeches to a delighted audience of Rotarians who organized the event and their teacher and coach Mrs. Keulemans. It will be an unforgettable experience for these young people who rose to the occasion admirably. Rtn. Mrs. Gwyneth Millard thanked the students for their performances and she commented on the terrific support and guidance from their teacher who had assisted them to achieve so much.
